Apprentice Carpenter

Apprentice carpenters assist other team members by maintaining jobsite cleanliness, moving and stacking materials, assisting in framing and other carpentry duties as needed under supervision of skilled team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools.
  • Experience in carpentry or related trades a plus.
  • Must own or be able to acquire personal hand tools including: hammer, 25′ tape measure, speed square, razor knife, nail puller, torpedo level, screw drivers, flat bar and chalk box.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift heavy weights of 50+ pounds.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English language.

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Pay: $15.00+ per hour based on experience

Journeyman Carpenter

Journeyman Carpenters work, as part of a crew or independently, under the direction of a lead carpenter to perform daily job tasks and meet the high quality standards of Solstice Builders. Daily tasks may include framing, interior or exterior trim, window and door installation, decking, handrail installation, siding, etc. Must be able to climb ladders, repeatedly lift heavy tools and materials, be able to safely and properly use common hand and power tools, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift heavy tools and materials of 50+ pounds.
  • Must be able to safely and properly use common hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong carpentry skills including framing, siding, interior and exterior trim, decking and handrails, window and door installation.
  • Knowledge of NC and Brunswick county building codes is helpful.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English language.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00+ per hour depending on experience

Lead Carpenter

The Lead Carpenter is responsible for overseeing and implementing daily on site production goals as determined by job Superintendent. Leads a team of 2-6 carpenters. Works closely with Superintendent and client, to ensure the job stays on schedule and within Solstice Builders quality standards. Daily duties will include leading a team of up to 6 carpenters in a variety of production tasks including framing, interior or exterior trim, window and door installation, siding, decking, hand rail installation, etc. Must be able to climb ladders, repeatedly lift heavy tools and materials, be able to safely and properly use common hand and power tools.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to professionally and effectively communicate with co-workers and clients.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift heavy tools and materials of 50+ pounds
  • Must be able to safely and properly use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand building plans.
  • Ability to lead up to a 6 person crew
  • Strong carpentry skills including framing, siding, interior and exterior trim, decking and hand rails, window and door installation.
  • Strong knowledge of North Carolina and Brunswick County building codes.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English language.

Construction Project Manager - Bald Head Island

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to support the Superintendent in delivering thoughtfully built, truly custom homes & renovations on Bald Head Island.

This is a field-based role –not a desk position- and requires daily travel to and from Bald Head Island. It’s a hands-on, detail-driven opportunity for someone who understands how homes come together and takes pride in doing things the right way.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support daily jobsite operations alongside Superintendent
  • Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections
  • Track schedules and anticipate delays
  • Review plans to ensure accurate execution
  • Maintain organized documentation (logs, reports, photos)
  • Assist with quality control to uphold Solstice standards
  • Support punch lists and project closeout
  • Effectively communicate with team members, subs, vendors, and customers.
  • Maintain clean and safe jobsites
  • Solve and correct problems
  • Carry out customer concerns/complaints

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on residential construction experience (required)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and project sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with an anticipatory mindset
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and follow-through
